Cheap, Chic, Rural: IKEA

I'm always amazed by IKEA and love heading down to Red Hook to see what they have every now and then. It's like Uniqlo or the Gap- pick up well designed basics, mix it with vintage and pricier standouts and you have someting amzing that isn't going to break the bank. Inspired by some whispy florals in tin buckets in Chelsea and by IKEA's PS Collection, take a look:

The Happy Client: Upper West Side One Bedroom

It was love at first sight when Melissa saw this, her first apartment in Manhattan, on the Upper West Side. We looked at quite a few apartments, from studios to one beds, but this great space had everything- location (in the 80s by the Park), high ceilings, a bedroom and a seperate kitchen. Simple, colorful and neat as a pin, the apartment looks fantastic! It is homey with just the perfect balance of space vs furniture and accessories- it feels roomy and cozy. When I told her how great it looks, Melissa said "Thank you, I love it!"

Inspired: DeKalb Avenue, Brooklyn

My partner and I are listing a lovely rental in Brooklyn this week, so we took some pictures on Friday to prep- I have to say, the tenant did a lovely job of decorating. Great use of space and palette- curating down to warm creams and crisp whites with black and metallic accents, the space feels spacious and airy, yet warm and soft. The views are amazing, the building is full service and the finishes are lovely.
