Memphis in NYC: A Look Around Town

If you're out and about, you'll find the influences and remanents of Post Modernism and Memphis all over. In NY, the architecture is scarce, but product and graphic design still owes a great deal to the 80's fun and design for design's sake. I have to say, in a city of cement and limestone, the colorful geometrics make smile.

A Light From Above: Chelsea

Best of Both Worlds: Soho

There is something almost mid century about this Soho one bedroom. I'm not sure if it is the clean lines, the warm wood floors or the asymmetry of the high windows...it's just very soothing in it's geometries.  I love this building on 5th Avenue in Greenwich Village! Shopping is great, it's a block from Union Square, yet  it's quiet and unpretentious. These apartments are new to the market and in the process of being spruced up, but they rent before they are finished, so you'll have to trust me on this. The first has a wall in the living space to create a two bedroom....I can check if it's going or not.
